The Marshfield CLT is registered as a Co-operative and Community Benefit Society and has a formal set of rules that specify the purpose, objectives and limitations of the CLT. To get us started we had a Steering Group of Marshfield residents who worked to establish the basic structure of the CLT and to appoint an interim board. We have members of the CLT – 150 of them at the last count in Nov ’18. They have signed up to the objectives and code of conduct of the CLT and have bought at least one £1 share in the CLT. We have an elected board of directors. The board of directors also meets once a month but, because board meetings sometimes have to discuss confidential issues, minutes are not published.
