I am Simon Turner and I am 57 year old engineer. My career started in 1978 when I took a 6 month work placement at Rolls-Royce in Bristol and I stayed for 38 years, designing and testing aircraft engines. I am currently a director and treasurer of the Marshfield Community Land Trust.
My wife, Mary and I moved to Marshfield and bought a house in 1983 in which we raised our two children. Today, I look at our children and as they have virtually no opportunity of finding a starter home in Marshfield due to the lack of affordable housing, they have moved away. I see the CLT as an opportunity for the community to redress the housing imbalance so that the young can share the benefits of a life in Marshfield.
